Juniors, Spring is in the Air!

Juniors, spring is in the air! There are several things you can be doing right now, in the spring semester, to get a jump-start on your college application. Hopefully, you’ve already signed up to take the March 10th SAT exam, but if you have not, make sure you sign up by April 6th for the May 5th test administration. Then plan to take the exam once more in the fall. If you are planning to take the ACT instead (or as well), those registration dates are also fast approaching. For the April 14th test day, the deadline for registration is March 9th.

It is also a good idea take advantage of the spring semester to explore AP exam and SAT subject exam options. While taking an AP course is the best way for most people to prepare for the examination, it is not required. Do your research and find out the policy on AP exam credit for the universities you are interested in applying to attend. While you are researching, try to visit some universities during your spring break, or, at least, take the time to do virtual tours online. This may help you begin your list of Reach, Target and Safety schools. These and other ideas in the video below give you some strategies that will help you to be ready when it is time to complete your college applications.
